Treeningu eesmärk on pidevalt varieeruvate WODide (Workout of the Day) kaudu parandada üldist füüsilist vormi. Sealhulgas jõudu, vastupidavust, painduvust ja osavust.
WODideks nimetatakse CrossFit treeningu põhiosa, kus sooritatakse erinevaid harjutusi tulemuse peale - kiirus, raskus, kordused.

The name "box" (in Estonian "kast") comes from the early days, when CrossFit training was often done in industrial buildings or garages, which looked like boxes.
